PC shut down while creating storage pool, leaving external drive impossible to access : datarecovery

I was messing with storage settings when I came across the “create storage pool” option and decided I wanted to do it. However, after seeing that files would be deleted from my drives if I did it, I wanted to cancel. There was no cancel button so I panicked and shut down the pc.

After logging in, I see this; my disk drive is now in the “formatted” section and my external drive is in the “unformatted” section. The disk drive is still accessible, but I can not open the external drive now. It doesn’t appear in file explorer, and in devices and printers it’s now labeled as simply “Portable”, when it used to be the E: drive. I’m now worried that I’m unable to access the files in the drive or use it as storage again. Any suggestions? Thanks.
